Oatmeal Cookies
1 cups Thick cream -or-
1½ cups Shortening
½ cup Milk
1 lb Brown sugar
3 Eggs
2 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Nutmeg
½ tsp Cloves
1½ tsp Soda
1 tsp Salt
3 cups Flour
5 cups Oatmeal
Mix and bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Chocolate chips and raisins are good too.

Sugar Cookies
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Shortening
3 Eggs
2 tsp Cream of tartar
1 tsp Soda
1 tsp Vanilla
3½ cups Flour
Roll 3/8" thick, cut and bake at 350 for 8 minutes.

Sugar Cookies
2 cups Sugar
2 cups Shortening
4 Eggs
1 cup Milk
2 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Salt
2 tsp Soda
6 tsp Baking powder
9 cups Flour
Combine sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients alternating with milk. Chill 45 minutes. Roll to 3/8" thick. Bake at 350 on greased cookie sheet. Sugar or ice or use for filled cookies.

Filled Raisin Cookies
Use sugar cookie dough or:
1 cup Sugar
1 Egg
2 tsp Cream of tartar
1 tsp Soda
1 tsp Vanilla
½ cup Shortening
3 cups Flour
½ tsp Salt
½ cup Milk
Make soft dough and chill. Roll thin.
Filling:
2 cups Ground raisins
1 cup Chopped nuts
2/3 cup Sugar
2/3 cup Hot water
1 tbsp Lemon juice
1 tbsp Butter
Cook raisins, sugar, nuts and water 6-8 minutes or until thick. Stir constantly. Remove from heat, add lemon juice and butter. Cool.

Toll House Cookies
1½ cups Brown Sugar
½ cup White Sugar
1 cup Shortening
4 Eggs
2 tsp Soda dissolved in 4 tsp hot water
1 tsp Vanilla
3½-4 cups Flour
2 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Salt
Blend together. Fold in small package of chocolate chips and nut meats. Chill dough for 30 minutes. Roll into small balls, flatten with fork. Bake at 350 on greased cookie sheet.

Carrot Cookies
¾ cup Sugar
¾ cup Shortening
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Salt
2 cups Flour
1 cup Chopped nuts
1 cup Cooked mashed carrots
Mix and drop by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Frost while the cookies are warm, with juice from ½ orange and powdered sugar.

1 cup Peanut butter

1 cup White sugar
1 cup Brown sugar
½ tsp Soda
1 tsp Baking powder
2 Eggs
3¼ cups Flour
Mix and form into balls, roll in flour and press with fork. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes.
